Rishi Ram Bhandari

Mr. Bhandari is the Managing Director and Founder of Satori Adventures (P.) Ltd. Rishi has had a long-time connection with both trekking and mountaineering from an early age. Rishi was born in Naudanda, Nepal, some 20 kilometers from the beautiful city of Pokhara and perched on a hill in the shadow of Machha Puchhre (Fishtail Peak) also known as the Holy Mountain.

Rishi began his career in the outdoor industry in 1999 working as a trekking leader for Bhandari Tours. Rishi then spent the next 3 years working as the expedition base camp manager for Monterosa Treks and Expeditions working both in Nepal and Tibet. Rishi then established Snowy Horizon Treks and Expeditions in 2009 and managed treks, peak climbing and numerous 8,000 meter peak expeditions in Nepal, Tibet, and Pakistan. This hand on approach to the outdoor industry, teamed with his willingness to learn and master each position has lead to Rishi becoming a leader in the industry. Rishi successfully completed the Nepal Academy of Tourism & Hotel Management in 2001, which is endorsed and sponsored by the Nepal Ministry of Culture Tourism & Civil Aviation. Rishi has also completed mountain climbing guide course via the Nepal Mountaineering Association.

In 2015 Rishi decided to move to the next level of his outdoor industry career and established Satori Adventures (P.) Ltd. Rishi will act as the managing director and direct the day to day operations overseeing all aspects of the operation. Rishi enjoys nature, working with mountaineering expeditions and continues to lead treks whenever the opportunity may present itself, especially those at high altitude. Rishi believes that these opportunities allow him to remain in touch with clients and to evacuate the overall operation and allows the opportunity to keep improving the quality of service of the company. Rishi is well versed in Nepalese, English and German. Rishi has lead many treks and expeditions in Himalayas to include the Annapurna and Everest Regions and has climbed many peaks to include Mera, Island Peak, Naya Kanga, Yala Peak, Pisang Peak, Tent Peak, Singu Chuli, Cho-Oyu and Shishapangma.

Satori Adventures Pvt. Ltd., under Rishi Ram Bhandari’s dynamic leadership, continues to set benchmarks in Himalayan expedition excellence. Mr. Bhandari currently serves as an Executive Committee Member at the Nepal Tourism Board (2024–2027), the apex government body responsible for promoting Nepal’s tourism both domestically and internationally, and as General Secretary of the Expedition Operators Association Nepal (EOA–Nepal) (2025–2027), a government-recognized organization that not only manages rope fixing teams for major Himalayan expeditions but also acts as a consultant body to ensure responsible, safe, and sustainable mountaineering practices. His strategic roles in these national organizations reflect Satori Adventures’ commitment to delivering life-changing mountain experiences with the highest standards of safety and ethics, while contributing meaningfully to tourism development, environmental stewardship, and the wellbeing of Nepal’s mountain communities.
