Ongoing Middle East Conflict: Nepal remains a perfect destination for global travelers

The global travel industry in general, and regional in specific is facing significant disruptions due to the ongoing tensions in the Middle East. CNBC reports that over 30,000 flights in/out of the region have been cancelled, impacting global connectivity as the Middle East handles 14% of global transit traffic.

Airspace restrictions, flight rerouting, and rising fuel prices have created challenges for airlines and travelers around the world.

For travelers seeking adventure, culture, and natural beauty, Nepal continues to stand strong as a safe and inspiring destination in Asia. This is partly due to its geographic position, far from the crisis-affected Middle East region.

As Nepal enters its most popular trekking and mountaineering season, the flight disruptions in the Middle East have certainly created travel difficulties for some of our clients. However, travelers are adapting to the situation, and we are eagerly welcoming visitors who are reaching Kathmandu through alternative routes.

How Nepal is affected due to the Middle-East tension?

Many of our visitors from the eastern United States, Canada, Europe, South America, West Asia, and Africa typically travel using flight services that transit through various Middle Eastern countries. Major airlines include Emirates, Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways, and Air Arabia with common transit hubs in Dubai, Doha, and Abu Dhabi.

Amid current airspace restrictions and security concerns, some of these airlines have had to cancel or reroute certain flights. As a result, some of our clients have also been affected. However, they are adapting to the situation and are now flying to Kathmandu through alternative routes.
