Paragliding in Nepal

Nepal is the hub of Adventurous activities. Paragliding, Skydiving, Rafting, Bungee Jumping, and Rock climbing are some of the most compelling examples of adventurous activities. Among them, paragliding is most popular and most common in Nepal. Paragliding is common in Pokhara, Bandipur, and Kathmandu; Pokhara is the most sought after destination.

There are many tandem flights available with services provided by qualified and experienced pilots. However, if you want to fly by yourself and have a pilot license, you will get a flying permit from the Civil Aviation Office in Pokhara. The Permit will be valid for 15 days, and the cost is $45. There are paragliding schools in Pokhara, and you can enroll. Soon you will be able to soar free above the lake by yourself!

The Paragliding flying point is the Sarangkot, 1600m from sea level. The main area for flying is the Annapurna region, more specifically the Pokhara valley. This lakeside town is Nepal's one of the two cities situated at the foot of Mt Annapurna and Mt Machhapurchhre. You can see the view of three Himalayas‒Mt Annapurna (8,091m), Mount Manaslu (8,163), and Dhaulagiri (8,167m) from the paragliding. 10 AM, 12 Noon, and 2 PM are the best hours for paragliding. There is a mandatory insurance policy for those who paraglide!
