Gasherbrum II Expedition(8,035/26362ft.) - 53 days

Gasherbrum II (8035m/26,362ft) is the 13th highest 8000m peak in the world. The peak is also known in Pakistanas G2. G2 is located in the Karakoram, on the border between Xinjiang, China and Gilgit–Baltistan province in Pakistan. It is part of the Karakoram mountain range in the Himalayas, and located at the top of the Baltoro Glacier. Gasherbrum II is the third highest mountain of the remote Gasherbrum peaks. Satori Adventure offers full board and base camp support for a Gasherbrum (G2) Expedition. After many years of hard research and climbing, Australian expedition team leader Mr. Fritz climbed the Southwest ridge in the summer of 1956. Mr. Fritz Moravec with his two climbing partners Josef Larch, and Hans Willenpart was able to successfully summit on July 7, 1956.

G2 (8035m/26,362ft) peak is located at 35°45′30″N Latitude and 76°39′12″E longitude. G2 is a true Himalayan adventure, it has both a remote environment and extreme weather conditions. Gasherbrum II is suitable for those climbers whose focus is to climb larger 8000m peaks like Everest.G2 is a great objective for first-time 8000 meter peak climbers.

Satori Adventures fixes 3 camps on the mountain above the Advanced base camp. Our climbing guides believe that by fixing 3 camps above the summit, it greatly increases the odds that climbers will make the summit. Our philosophy is to approach all mountains including G2 with great care, recognizing the hazards involved in climbing high-altitude glaciated peaks. Gasherbrum 2 is one of the highest mountains in the world, posing all the risks that comes with such an impressive peak. With that being said, the normal route on the mountain is accessible due to less objective hazard. There is a substantial ice fall to negotiate on the way to camp one. Moreover, the weather can be very challenging. However, we plan to utilize a highly experienced staff, top-notch safety and mountain equipment, fixed rope in exposed or otherwise dangerous sections of the route, and slow conservative acclimatization to minimize our risk.

Satori guides have in-depth experience leading expeditions to 8000-meter mountains in Nepal, Pakistan and Tibet. Our Pakistani logistics partners have worked in the expedition business for over a decade and are some of the best logistic organizers and expedition management teams in the business. Our climbing and base camp support teams have significant experience in organizing multiple expeditions to 6000m, 7000m and 8000m peaks in Pakistan, Nepal, Tibet and China. The climbing is not especially steep but the remoteness of the setting makes this an especially rewarding experience. Whether this is your first 8000m peak or your third, the nature of climbing in this region will have its own unique flavor. We supply a chef, climbing Sherpa guide from Nepal and the use of Pakistani high altitude porters who have years of experience on the high 8000 meter mountains. Our staff works very hard to fix ropes, stock camps and assist our team in reaching the summit safely. We will employ a full cooking staff that specializes in healthy, abundant and tasty meals at base camp and advanced base camp.
