Different Names of Mt Everest

Mount Everest has different names, it is famous in Nepal as ‘Sagarmatha’, all Nepalese is used to say as ‘Sagarmatha’. In Tibetan language it is called ‘Chomolungma’. Before the name given as Everest, It was called the third pole. The peak derived its name from the land Surveyor General ‘Sir George Everest’ who was the first person to locate the exact position of the peak.

Mount Everest Expedition or climbing of Everest is considered as challenging task for human beings. After the several attempts to conquer the summit of this peak by many climbers, Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay in the 29 May 1953 climbed this peak.
